Fiorentina extend contract with coach Vincenzo Montella a duration of two years which will keep him at the Artemio Franchi until 2017. Montella joined Fiorentina from Catania last season with a two-year contract duration. However, successfully led his team finished in fourth place last season to make Fiorentina agreed to extend his contract.
"It's just a formality. We have reached an agreement for a long time," said Montella related to the new contract.
"I want to thank the club and the fans for their support. However, we remain aware of tough task ahead of us still waiting," he added.
This season, Montella alone is projected to bring Fiorentina back to the top flight Serie-A. What's more, La Viola have received new ammunition, namely Mario Gomez of Bayern Munich and Josep Llicic of Palermo.
